Nymphs are female spirits associated with nature, halfway between goddesses and mortal women. They connect us with youth and the free spirit.
They embody natural elements such as rivers, oceans, lakes, fountains, forests, mountains and caves. They are considered benevolent, joyful and protective of nature.
Legend has it that Alseid was a lover of flowers … One day she faced the fury and the rays of Zeus to protect a field of poppies. Then Zeus, regretful, rewarded its value by giving the nymph the field to protect the flowers forever … Since then in the Greek mythology the Alseids are the nymphs that inhabit the flowers.
